Andrea Burke (she/her) is a PhD candidate at Western University in London, Canada (Treaty 6 Territory) studying Gender, Sexuality and Women’s Studies. Her current doctoral work concerns racialized and immigrant women engaged in essential work during the COVID-19 pandemic. She is also engaged in scholarship on decent work, sex work, violence prevention, international development, gender theory, public policy, and social equity. Andrea also engages in crisis intervention, gender based violence prevention, and prevention training through Anova and the Centre for Research and Education on Violence Against Women and Children. These endeavors push her to be a better scholar.
